This food distribution is a big part of our mission at ICS. It is funded by the Retreat Guest Rooms and by our Spreading Spiritual Literature program. If you'd like to donate or volunteer please contact us.
Our common room is the center of our retreat guest rooms. This is where friendships are made over yummy doughnuts, fresh fruit, and hot tea, in the morning, afternoon and night. As a friendly, peaceful atmosphere, the common room is a perfect getaway from your busy day in the city. There is internet access on a communal laptop, and wi-fi if you have your own. If you're hungry you're welcome to all the fixin's in the kitchen, and welcome to cook up a storm, just keep it veggie. There is also a small library of spiritual books that can keep your mind engaged during a respit from the busy streets.
The retreat guest rooms offered by Interfaith Community Services are perfect for a comfortable and affordable stay in Manhattan. There are single bed rooms, and bunk-bedrooms, some of which have access to our beautiful back garden. They are all on the first floor, so no stair climbing required, and you have close access to the shared bathroom, kitchen, and common room. Less isolated than the apartments, the retreat guest rooms are perfect for integrating with other guests and becoming part of the ICS family.
We have 1 bedroom furnished apartments with 2 double beds, one in the bedroom and the other in the living room area; extra bedding can be provided.
Apartments feature a private vegetarian kitchen with dishwasher and gas stove, as well as a private bathroom, and plenty of closet space.
